For the past week, my pc, which has been running windows xp professional
flawlessly for over 5 years, has decided to "blue screen" me every few
minutes. There is a lot of information put on the screen about the error but
it is only there for a second so it is very difficult to read. However, It
does start off by saying that windows has been shut down to protect my
computer. It there gives an error message, which goes something along the
line of "Version not less than or equal to..." but I do not know of what. The
only updates I have done to my computer recently have been from window's
update.

Any clues about how this started or, better still, how to stop it, will be
greatfully received.

You should try using F8 and going into safe mode to uninstall any drivers
that you have installed recently.
Did you try last known good. That doesn't help a driver problem, but does
other problems.
You are in the wrong group as this group is for 64-bit systems and you
obviously are running XP86

Re: xp pro blue screens with message "driver not less than or equalto

If you've been running XP Pro for over 5 years, then you
have stumbled into the wrong forum. This is 64-bit Windows.

However, to see what your system is telling you press F8
during boot up and select the option to Not Reboot on
Errors. This will stop at the BSOD and you can read the
information.
