We have 30 users who need to access our Terminal Server. The Terminal Server
also houses the TS License Service. We have 20 User CALs because only 15
users will be accessing the Server at any given time. Is this OK? Or, will
we need 30 CALs?

Re: Terminal Service User CALs

The TS CALs are *not* concurrent. This means that you
need a TS CAL for each user. The alternative is to choose
Per Device licensing, in which case you would need a TS
CAL for each unique device. If you have more devices
than users (for example, users connect from office pcs and
home pcs) then you choose Per User, otherwise you should
choose Per Device.

Re: Terminal Service User CALs

thanks but we have 5 users who will be leaving the department soon. We will
want to replace them. Does this mean we have to buy 5 more licenses? Or, is
there a way to reuse the licenses for the employees who are leaving the
department.

Re: Terminal Service User CALs

If you have 5 employees that leave the company then you can
use those same licenses for the 5 that you hire to replace them.

From your descriptions I would say you need 30 TS Per User
CALs to cover your needs.
