Unless your .Net app (assuming the part that is using IIS) is internal
only, meaning not exposed to the public, you DO NOT WANT SQL ON THE SAME
SERVER.
The proper web config has your Web server in the DMZ network with only
TCP 1433 passed through the DMZ to the LAN IP of the SQL Server, and not
AD/Domain authentication permitted. This protects the data on the SQL
Server, protects the LAN, protects your users, etc...
If the server is internal use ONLY, then you would still benefit from
two servers as SQL is a real resource pig (drives and memory).
