Hello,

if they are standard user, they can't install software through a setup.
But they can still copy .exe & co and launch them. Some software are not
requiring HKLM entries.

You may block executable, by limiting the name of .exe allowed to be
launched through software restriction

Hey CHATEAU tnx for replying....:) where can i find this software restriction.
..and can this softwares resctriction be able to restrict administrators as
well.

in our office i have this problem... a software that was installed requires a
user to be a member of admin, domain admin, and administrators group, which
also gives users the full rights to install softwares thats i post this
thread... can you give your insights to my problem.:)

Domain admins rights are only necessary for applications that registers in
the AD.

For all others, only local admin rights are needed.

You can set more restrictive GPO, but another domain admin can unset these
GPO.
Technical is not the key to work better between admins
