tooltip display

I'm using win98SE and it is now 2007. A developing application I use finds
conflict with the tooltip display feature and crashes when Windows tries to
display a tooltip message. I would like to disable tooltip messages if I
can. I can get along without them. Does anyone know how to do this?

Also, try Nirsoft's Shell Extension Viewer to disable 3rd-party shell
integration that may have this effect.
