Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out this weekend and Star Wars fans will head out to theaters in droves to see how the new trilogy and the entire Skywalker saga ends. Having seen The Rise of Skywalker, I can tell you with great confidence that it has plenty of jaw-dropping scenes that will make it stand out from other Star Wars movies. There are also plenty of fan service moments and callbacks to earlier films that will not go unnoticed. Sadly, that’s just not enough to turn Rise of Skywalker into the must-see film, or even a top Star Wars movie. There’s a huge problem that ruins not only Rise of Skywalker, but also the original Star Wars movies. And it’s all done for the wrong reasons. Mind you, several major spoilers follow below, so avoid them until after you see The Rise of Skywalker if you want to be surprised.
