I downloaded and installed SP2 for one of our Win2K3 servers last week using
Windows Update.

This week I'd like to install SP2 on our other WIn2K3 server and if possible
I would like to just run a setup file from the other win2K3 server. I found
a setup.exe file in the c:\windows\software
distribution\download\7c205249e4e58548a01567c8dc12d1b5\update directory that
when run, wants to install Service Pack 2.

Can I simply run this file from my other machine or will I have to copy the
whole update directory over...?

Thanks, Brad

You possibly could, but why bother? The setup file that is automatically
downloaded is only a few kilobytes and all the rest is downloaded over
the Internet. Unless the file is the full network install of 120+
MBytes, I can't see a big advantage in running it.

Cheers,

Cliff
