I have a Windows 2003 Std Server acting as a terminal server. Attached to
it's LPT1 port is an Okidata ML320 printer. A remote user also has this same
model of printer attached to her local PC. Ever since this user has started
using TS to connect there have been times where her print job is directed to
the server's local lpt1 instead of her PC. (I havnt ruled out the user
selecting the wrong printer but...) Also the LPT1 port on the server needs to
be removed and reinstalled several times a day. Could the fact that she has
the same printer attached to her local pc that is attached to the server be
causing this corruption to the LPT1 port?

Re: Can a remote connection cause lpt1 corruption?

The answer is No, having the same printer attached locally and remotely
shouldn’t be cause of printer output going on the wrong printer. Please
confirm that user selected right printer. It may help to make a clear
distinction if you rename the server attached printer to something obvious.
