The world’s first foldable laptop is now available for preorder

• The world’s first foldable Windows 10 laptop is available for preorder after a prototype was first demoed at CES 2020.
• The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold retails for $2,499 and features a foldable 13-inch OLED display that supports several use modes.
• The foldable notebook can make use of a standalone keyboard accessory and a stylus.

The world’s first foldable laptop arrived several months after the world’s first foldable smartphones hit stores.

That happened in early 2020 when Lenovo demonstrated its foldable ThinkPad concept. Nine months later, the ThinkPad X1 Fold is a real product that you can buy. It’s a 13-inch laptop/tablet device that retails for $2,499, which is far more expensive than a traditional Windows 10 laptop. Then again, the technology that makes foldable devices possible isn’t cheap. Still, the X1 Fold might be a better deal than the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 2, which retails for $2,000.
