| Not known, I only had the new XP booted last evening.
| As soon as I set up "the kid's" XP cosmetically,
| (it was just a jumble of boxes, wires and monitor on the desk)
| I'll give it a kick in the ribs, and report.
Okay, then we (the group) await further developements.
|
| > 2. Have you *shared* the printer?
|
| We tried, but the XP didn't seem to want to know about it
| didn't recognise the printer.

| Printer: Canon i250
| XP has DWL-G510 wireless desktop adaptor.
| G54 802.11g wireless connectivity
| W98se has D-Link wireless G broadband router
|
| Network protocols?
|
| Does the XP have to have the Canon drivers installed?
| I have not done that.
|
| Thanks for your attention.
|
| I thought in the first instance, perhaps XP wireless to W98se
| compatibility, may be a well-known issue
|
|
The W98se D-Link wireless G and related G XP adaptor have had issues {been
discussed} too numerous to cross link from
microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web, however, first get everything fully
setup, As for the protocols and sharing (and networking generally):

Don't think that link is to *put you off* posting here, this group will
help with anything necessary once you're prepared [finished setting up the
basics, i.e., your actually ready to network with stable base systems].
