My MSN messenger went down saying that it was out of date. To it get the new
verson I have to be the local administrator. I am the only user on this
computer so I am the administrator. Have seen by other posts that suggest
that I am a super user. Cannot find anywhere how to log on as administrator
when there is one account. Any help would be appreciated. The operating
system is VISTA.

RE: Logging in as administrator

You do not need to log on as the Administrator to get the new version
installed. You just have to log on as any administrator, and as the only user
on the computer, you are one. You should just be able to download the new
installer from http://get.live.com/messenger/overview and run it.

The problem may be that you try to install it from the version that you have
and that version may have been designed for XP. The new version works fine
with Vista though.
