Does all software that runs on Vista run on Server 2008 as well?

Yes. I haven'te found anything that nstalled on Vista that wouldn't run on Widowst 2008 Server.

what anti virus are you using? which is better for server 2008. I tried avast but it said that I can't install it on the NIT frame?

You need a server version av. Home versions will not work.
