Drivers install problems

Hello all.. Im very new to server stuff, and having a few issues trying to get my drivers installed...

I installed enterprise edition x64 and have two issues.

(1) My Asus MB DVD will not auto run the installer, it acts like it tries to run but nothing ever comes up. I can also browse the DVD, run (as administrator) the auto run or setup files but again, nothing comes up. The only way I could get the unknown devices installed was to manually update each driver in device manager. Although all the unknown devices are gone now, Im worried that I may be missing something MB/chipset related that I cannot install since the setup is not working (the server is running slow at times, seems a bit odd to me). So is that normal not to be able to run or auto run items like that?

(2) I also cannot install my Nvidia drivers either. I know there are no 2008 drivers, but I have seen various forums where people say vista x64 or sometimes the 2003 drivers will work. When I get on the nvidia site I cannot download the drivers - Active X issues. I am not at the unit now, but the error is something to the effect of: Your security settings do not allow the web site to run ActiveX controls installed on your computer. I google-ed this but did not find a fix for it. I have already tested setting everything in the internet options>security to Prompt and then full Enable for everything ActiveX related, still cannot download. I have the nvidia site allowed and working and I can get to the drivers I need, just cannot download them. Is this a firewall/other security setting, and/or how do I get around this ActiveX warning/message so I can download the needed drivers?

Sorry for the basic/noob questions.. any help or advice is much appreciated. My setup is ASUS P5Q LGA 775 Intel P45 MB, Q6600 2.4 gig, Nvidia 9400 GT, 4GB Corsair DDR2, Zalman 850watt PSU. I guess a third question is does anyone see any conflicts or issues with my hardware setup that might make the server seem to be slow at times?

Thank you for any and all help!

I had a problem with auto run whilhe installing 2008 Enterprise also. My problem turned out to be a firmware problem on dvd drive. Maybe a firmware upgrade will fix it.

For the video drivers I ran Windows update and it installed the best drivers. I also have nvidia card in it.

Thanks BSchwarz for the advice on firmware, Ill give that a shot..

As for my ActiveX issues, I think I resolved the problem I found out after reinstalling fresh and finally getting my MSDN product key to work (and activating windows) all was well!

Been playing with Hyper-V and having some networking issues so that will be next!

Thanks again
Jay
