Guys does anyone of you knows whats the hardware and software requirements for implementing a Application Server?

Depends what you want to run on it.

What are your plans for the server?
What are you going to run?

well just wana know what will be the min requirements for the hardware, is it the same as the min requirements of windows server 2008?

Like I said it depends on what you want to run. Minimum requirements are the same as 2003 although you're not going to get good performance with minimum requirements.
