Hyper-V slowing down machine

Hi, I'm running Windows Server 2008 on a Core i7 965 with 12 GB of ram. Everything was running smootly until I enabled Hyper-V. Now, my machine is pretty sluggish with relatively no load-sometimes when you move a window (such as my computer, even) it drags really choppy and locks up for a slight second or so.

Is there any reason why Hyper-V could be the cause of this and why it would do it? My mother board supports virtualization. It's listed as something like "intel virtualization" in my bios.

Thanks,
Mike

Also; I have a copy of Virtual PC 2007. Do I still need to use Virtual PC or VMWare, etc with Hyper-V, or does it alread have everything necessary to setup virtual machines?

Hyper-V has everything you need to run virtual OS. No need for for vmware and the like.

I have a hyper-v server with just about the same specs as you and have no problems. I do notice a slight lag when I have more than 4 virtial boxes running at once. It is very minor and not like you describe. How much memory have you allocated to each visrtual instance?
