Server 2008 Std Edition

Hi all!

I read the product overview of MS Server 2008 Standard Edition and come across this issue:

What does it means by "Supports up to 4 multi-core processors"? I mean, let say if I am using a dual core processors, does that means 2 of those reached the max already? Or when I am using a Quad Core processors, what is the max number of such processors is supported?
