Transfering data between servers

Hello guys,

I have a question regarding transferring data from a windows server 2003 machine to a windows server 2008 machine.

1. Is there any documentation how to transfer users from a windows server 2003 to a windows server 2008
2. What are important points to keep in mind when transferring all data inclusive users from a windows server 2003 machine to a windows server 2008 machine.

If you could give me links, answers or any kind of documentation regarding my question would be a great help.
