Cannot Install Server 2008 ... Debug mode starts

I assume it is because my hardware configuration, but I cannot install server 2008. When I boot from disc, a white tannish screen displays for about 10 to 20 secs then it says starting debug mode. The loading screen comes up then goes to a black screen and that's it. Nothing happens after that.

I have an Intel P4 2.45 with 512 mb, IDE HDD.
