Host & Virtual Machines Can't Communicate With Each Other

Host has W2K8 standard running 4 virtual machines. The VM's (also W2K8 standard except 1 on W2k8 R2) can see each other fine, all appear on the network but can't see the host server (can't ping, can't \\192.168.x.x to it). The host however doesn't appear on the network, can't ping any of the VM's but can ping everything else on the network. MOST annoying.

Have tried disabling all firewalls, Network discovery is on - although only sets to 'custom' on the host. Running out ideas & patience

Any ideas???

Is the host using NIC teaming? I've heard of this problem happening when the host is set to using NIC teaming, which isn't supported by the hypervisor ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968703 ). I believe you're supposed to break the team and remove any teaming software from the host if you are using it.
