Administrator Creation

Hello.
I have just setup a new Windows Server 2008 Standard at the office.I have also created a new user in our domain which we have here.
I want to make this user administrator of the new server in order to perform a TeamFoundation Server installation.
Although I have declared that user in the administrator group it seems that I cannot do anything when I am logged in as that user because I take a message that all that I am doing is restricted by policy.
I found informations about User Account Control and hidden administrator enabling but I am even more confused.

Can you please help?
