I am studying a course on Server Virtualization . Microsoft gave me the opportunity to download the Windows 2008 Server R2. As I am a registered student, school gave me the access to the dreamspark website to download it.

It works fine. However, I can't go to the Internet.
My computer works with Linux distributions. I made a partition and install Windows 2008 Server R2.
I installed it properly and it works fine. The only problem is that I can't go to the Internet with Windows 2008 Server R2.

I have a cable modem. My ISP offers the Internet via cable modems. Nothing wrong with it. I can go to the Internet it. The modem is Cisco.

I lodged a complaint with the ISP. It was my understanding that the modem is old and has difficulty in recognizing the latest Microsoft 2008R2.

They obliged and sent me one of the latest modems; it is Cisco EPC2425.
I threw away the old one. However, the problem remains with the new modem too.
I tried to configure the NIC.It recognized the RealTek card. The message was the card is properly configured.

I have inserted 3 NIC into the computer. The Linux distros recognizes all 3 NIC.
However, Windows 2008 Server can't recognize any of the NICs.

I may be wrong here. I believe the problems lies with NICs.
Your help is appreciated.
