Hi,

I just got my server set up the way I would like to have it, except I am having one problem. When any clients come online they can not find the DNS server. I have AD, DHCP, IIS, and DNS installed. The computers work fine if I go and put in the DNS server (192.168.1.110) but I was thinking that there should be a way around that.

Thanks,
Aaron

If you don't manually set the TCP/IP info on your clients, then you need to configure your DHCP server to give out the DNS info. Without one or the other, they won't find the DNS server.

ok I will look for the option to do that.

Thanks for the reply!

ok I did try to find out how to set it up, but I was unable to find out how to do it. Where should I be looking under for this.

Thanks

Under your DHCP scope right-click on the Scope Options and select Configure Options. Find DNS Servers. Add your DNS server IP address. Click Add and then OK.

You can also do this same thing under the Server Options, but then if you have multiple scopes they will all get that DNS server.
