Hello all, we are upgrading our old terminal server 2003 to a new higher end server with terminal server 2008.

We also will be upgrading the domain controller from SBS 2003 to 2008 shortly.

I was advised to build a test environment for the terminal server which i did.

I have got the server running and had tested it in my office with our local printers, We couldn't really get the easy print working 100% so just decided to find drivers for all the printers on the network and install them on the server. This seems to work fine.

Yesterday i setup the 2008 terminal on the domain and give access for 2 or 3 people to test before i switch over 100%. This is where problems started.

I installed the server in the server rack and plugged into the network. Went to a workstation and logged in no problems. Next i joined the server to our 2003 Domain and rebooted the 2008 as per norm. When i logged back in it still had the same log in screen as before and there is no option to log on to the domain. So i log in as normal.

The computer name says it is part of the domain but now there is no access to the internet or network. It keeps prompting you for the username and password for the 2003 domain and you can no longer log onto the terminal server 2008 using remote desktop connection.

I am not sure what i have done wrong to make this happen I installed the latest service pack and the compatibility patch for Vista (like Microsoft recomended)before i joined to the domain.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Ian

If you have no access to the network at all (can't ping anything) and you've already tried turning off firewalls and such, then try uninstalling and reinstalling the NIC.
