So anyway, normally we use linux because of the fatal perpetual security hazards that Microsoft inflicts on the world.

However enough people are totally oblivious to the hard realities, and uneducated enough to feel comfortable with Microsoft servers in their company. I am tasked with getting $M's version of a communication server going to provide an additional product offering.

Install Attempt

Anyhow, with the server 2008 trail disk from Microsoft, it simply wont detect the sata hard drives in a raid 1 configuration.

Windows XP does, Linux does,

How to force Windows 2008 to see the drives so that an install is possible ?

the boss said to just install it on a non raid to get the system up

That is very haphazard, because there is no grantee that Microsoft can ever make raid work.........

And then what, we just dont implement fault tolerant production servers?

very very shoddy Microsoft
