Branch Office With No Domain Controllers

I have a few branch offices that do not have a windows 2008 RODC or any Domain controller, the workstations are windows Xp and when they log into my 2008 Domain, they get stuck on applying computers settings and it takes over 30 minutes to login.

Hi there,

I think this happens to each workstation, if so you could exclude a workstation's problem.

Anyway, first of all check the workstation's DNS setting, sometime it's the problem for slow logins.

When windows stuck on "applying computers settings" normally you could have two problems:

- network issue (misconfiguration or something broken)
- "software" issue (corrupted profile)
