Hello hello,

I've installed my windows server 2008 (x64) and install all the prerequisites to use hyper-v. I was able to install all the VM i wanted and was able to add to the mmc on the client computer. My situation is this:

I want to create VMs for the all users on the AD individually and associate the VM to them. I wonder if there is a way for the user to login on the client computer (which is on the domain) and start directly his/her session on his/her session. If its not possible, when they open their mmc that they only see their VM, not the others that are not associate to them.

(I hope it makes sense :( )

Thank you for reading and trying to help me out

hahaha!

I got part of my question! Right well i post and light in my head went on (lol!). I went on the AD and select a user, got in his properties and select the personnal virtual desktop. Now i need to find out how to put the VM in the AD.

You can still post some notes to help me out. :D thank you!!

Dang it!

Here's a question: can my hyper-v be on the same server as the server AD?

You want to install Windows, enable Hyper-V and then add the AD role on the same server which is running hyper-v, right?

If so, Microsoft says: "Although this scenario can be possible by manually change some parameter, you will experience performance's issues. This scenario is not officially supported by MS."

In other words, if you want to do this, make sure to understand:

1) it's not a good idea
2) Domain controllers should be domain controllers and STOP
3) You can find guides on the network, but what you can do when you have a problem?

You are right ICTCity!

But i resorted to go with citrix xendesktop and keeping the windows server 2008 AD. Working together!

Thanks for the insight!

When i'll have a another problem (i'm almost guarantee to have one), i'll know where to find help.
