i am installing computers in a network.
i am tasked with setting up a KMS service to get let the new pc's, which are installed through an image.
i have used the script and a key (server 2008 and a win7 one) to register it and activated it through the /ato command.
i do not find any information on how a client pc would react when i add them to the network.
do i need to enter the kms key to that client pc also. in the product key section or should it acquire some code from the kms service so i do no longer need to enter any product key each time i install a pc and add it to the network?
some info seems to indicate i need to use the kms key as a product key on the client pc which seems to defeat the purpose of the kms service as to eliminate the repeated insertion of activation codes on each pc over and over again.
can someone explain me clearly how a kms service would react and how a new pc in a network is supposed to react?
thanks, H.
