hi everyone, im completely new using windows server 2008. this may be silly, but i really need help.
we've been working on a web application, i need to make some connection tests with my server, but i dont know if my public ip is enabled, so that i can connect to my server. ive tried connecting via remote desktop but it keeps telling me that remote desktop is not enabled.

my firewall is down, and i use FortiNet as my firewall. What should i do?

thanks.

You should contact your ISP and ask if you have a STATIC IP.

If so, you must configure it on your router and enable PORT FORWARDING for desired services.

thanks for your response.

i dont understand, i do have a static ip on my server. or do you mean the ip that my isp gave me?

ok, then yes. it is public static.

where can i find help configuring my router or pc with that ip?

sorry, im a total newbie

Check your manual for Port Forwarding. You must forward request to port 80 to your server.

If you want give me the model of your router.
