ok so it worked when i connected over VPN, but i dont know whats been going on with my RDP lately...its REALLY REALLY slow and laggy, and the rendering is terrible

any ideas?

THANKS!

Which client are you using?

Try to open the "options" tab when you start RDP client and check everything related to performances.

Go to this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969084 at the end you can find 3 links to download the latest version of RDP (7), if you are running Windows 7, download the package for VISTA, reinstall if needed.

I can RDP via VPN with no problem from XP and 7 clients, I'm using a CISCO VPN connection. Can you provide more details on your problem?

so im still having some pretty knarly RDP problems...

whenever i restart my server, it takes AGES before i can RDP into it.

a). it takes ages before it will even establish a connection
B). when it finally connects it show black screen for ages.
c). sometime i need to connect to VPN and connect to it locally, then disconnect from the VPN then it connects
d). after about 10 minutes or trying like 30 times, it comes right (some how)

any idea what this is, like it takes ages to load the RDP services? im not sure if this is avoidable, but its a real pain

i spose server arnt ment to be restarted all the time too, but im still testing and configuring etc so i need to

one more thing, i am running a game server, and ive got in the command line +ip 192.168.0.2 so it runs on the servers IP. because before it ran on 192.168.0.210 which was something different. But sometimes it starts up as LAN only?

I understand if you cant help me

Thanks

First try to determine if the problem persist with another CLIENT.

Regarding the slowness check the event viewer to see if there's something wrong during startup.
