Good afternoon everyone and I would like to thank in advance everyone for at least taking the time to read the issue i'm having.
I am helping a printing company upgrade their network and have replaced their 10/100 router and switches with gigabit, and replaced their aging Server 2003 server with a brand new 2008 Server. However, in the process, I managed to hit a bit of a wall.
Scenario:
1 Linksys WRVS4400N Gigabit Router
1 Cisco SR2024CT-NA 24 Port Gigabit Switch
1 Windows Server 2008 (Dual Xeon E5606 with 16GB memory)
~10 workstations all with gigabit NIC
On the prior 2003 server, their printer software database would load with a snap of a finger. On the new 2008 server it's like they're going around the world a couple dozen times before finally opening the database. I have been doing all sorts of research about properly setting up the DNS/Domain Controller and Active Directory but have yet to come up with any viable solutions to this issue and the peons at the printing company are getting restless.
I have sent files between the server and the workstations and i transfer between 12mbps and 15mbps.
