Re: Server 2003 does not see second Sata drive
Hello,
are you speaking about the file server's cache ? the maximum amount of ram
it can actively use on 32 bits is 960M.
Then it has a standby list, where it keeps others file in cache, which can
fill up the memory. So with 4G of ram, you may get the maximum efficiency on
the ram. May, because cache means accessing more than once a file while the
file is in cache
On the other part, Sata disks are not the best on seek time and throughput.
You would exclude folders from the antivirus to keep performance up. Having
a raid would help.
=>If you write more than you read, a raid 1
=>if you read more than you write,a raid 5
Just my 2 cents
