Hi,

I am getting BT busness internet put in tommorow - with 5 static external ip addresses.

I cant seem to find anything about how to use this within a domain though (server 2008)

do i have to make all of my servers and clients one of these ip addresses?

I will go way over 5 if i do have to.

I do have another router (that i can connect to their bt hub i assume) - i only have 1 NIC in each machine.

if i somehow manange to make that work - i need some of the servers to be accessable from the internet (like exchange server etc) - anyway im sure that will come after getting the actual ip addresses working.

Hope someone can help me or im really stuffed :(

Thank you in advance.

Set up a router. Assign one IP to it and connect client machines to it. Then hook up 1 to 4 servers to the switch and assign an IP to each.

This is just one way to do it. There are many other ways and you'll have to do what fits what you want to do.

do you think this will work...

internet -> modem -> (bt hub thing) - set external (isp) ip to one of the 5 they gave me -> set LAN ip to 192.168.1.10 -> All servers/clients on 192.168.1.x ip addresses?

If that will work im sorted lol :)

Thank you
