Server setup question

Hi everyone

I am thinking to get a server and install Win2008 R2 Enterprise edition. My plan is to create 4 virtual machines.

The first one is going to be the active directory
the second VM is going to be an SQL server
the third VM is going to be sharepoint
and the fourth VM maybe a print server, not sure yet.

I am no expert with Windows and I just want to ask whether this setup can cause any sort of problems because everything are hosted by virtual machines.
Also when you install Win2008 R2 does that include Actice directory or AD is a separate installation?

Do you know whether AD is a separate installation or is it installed together with the WinServer software.
