It’s hard to believe that, after 12 great years, Windows Server 2003 extended support ends today. Over the last year, many customers have prepared and planned their migrations and have migrated to a modern infrastructure.

Two customers that are already experiencing the significant value to their business following their migrations are Pella Corp and The Walsh Group.

Pella Corp, a leading window and door manufacturer, migrated to the latest technology to support emerging needs of the business. The business was eager to harvest additional productivity gains by modernizing applications. By moving their older applications to Windows Server 2012 R2, they improved performance with dynamic memory and gained multiple infrastructure management efficiencies with Active Directory Domain Services.

The Walsh Group, realizing they were depriving themselves of powerful new features, overcame budget and resource constraints that many companies face in order to update older applications to the latest technology with Windows Server 2012 R2 and Microsoft Azure. As a result, the Chicago-based construction firm is able to boost job site productivity, bring its global workforce together to pool great ideas and gain a competitive advantage.

If you are still running Windows Server 2003 in your datacenter after today, you could face security risks and potential compliance violations. If you have not yet begun your migration, we encourage you to do so, not only to protect your servers with continued security updates and patches from Microsoft, but to gain efficiencies across your business, reduce the burden on your IT and leverage modern cloud technologies and applications to boost agility.

Microsoft and our partners are still here to help you complete your migrations. To find our more information, tools and guidance visit our website.
