making a rack to hold server

I going to make my own rack to hold my server. It's going to make it out of wood. I thinking about putting inch on top and below the server for air flow and back will stick out 3 inches so there room for the wires. I may stick a fan under the server to blow air under the server to keep it cool. Can the server be mounted straight up and down or does it has it be mounted at vertical ? I going to mount it on my wall.

It can be mounted any way you like. I have some upright and some vertical. Just make sure there is adequate air movement .
