Disaster Recovery licensing

Consider the following scenario:

3x VMware vSphere existing servers licenced with WS 2012 R2 Standard ROK


Replacing those servers and transferring them to Disaster Recovery what are my license options?

• New WS 2019 ROK for new 3x servers and New WS 2019 Open licences for those old 3x servers, to match windows version?
• New WS 2019 Open with Software Assurance for new 3x servers and not licensing the old 3x servers?
• Other?
