mIRC & .Net

I was wonderin the other day, i know squirm has produced an amzing irc client for visual basic 6, but i need to know the following. i want to be able to create a bot in visual basic .net. how do i do this? ive tried using examples of the following :

dim sock as new tcpclient()
dim sock2 as new udpclient()

but it seems these two clients arent what i need. maybe they are, but when it comes to sockets, i am no expert. i would be grateful for any help ne1 could give me on the matter, because i need to make a bot - its my job, i script

MSDN tells you about the .NET framework - either offline or online. The class you want is System.Net.Sockets.

System.Net.Sockets is a Namespace not a class

I think System.Net.Sockets.TcpClient is probably the class hes after.
