Picking up input events

Does anyone have a god answer to this question.

I would like to make a pogram that can react to user input even if its not the active program. More in detail, I am trying to reset an integer every time the user presses a key or uses the mouse. The program is going to run in the background and log the actions.

I would like to write the progrm in VB.Net if possible but C.Sharp is my second choise.

To trap system-wide keyboard and/or mouse input, youll want to use the API call SetWindowsHookEx. See the following article for more info (its C#, but can be converted fairly easily if you know what youre doing )
