Hey Kids.
I realize no one has ever posted anything like this, but I have a problem which is driving me in-sane (not that its a very long drive).

I would be so impressed with the first person to solve this that Id have to mary them and bear their children, each of which would be named after their code.

Heres the dumb issue:
1. When I open an image and then try to save it to the saem file name, reguardless of if I dispose all refferences - I get Generic GDI error.

Allright - what the Spoo am I doin?

Yours Truly,
Mike "MC5" C.

P.S., Did I mention this is driving me in-SANE?

Try saving it to a different file name. In a sub folder. If it still crashes, Then it is probably your save rather than the file not being deleted. If it is the save... Are you useing Graphic.Save or Bmp.Save or Image.save?? What exactly are you useing to save the file. And how are you opening it? I have had errors from all the save methods, depending how you open them they are very very picky how you save them.

I tried this back when it was first posted - I tried about 20 different ways to dispose of the bitmap but couldnt. I tried cloning, copying, Disposing, etc. etc... I couldnt get it to work either. I knew there were a number of bugs in GDI so I figured thats all it was - never did figure this out.

Also, check out the date Kesper. With this being Gweithos only post and over a month ago, I dont think hes checking the thread anymore :)

I didnt figure he was either. But thought it was worth a try. I did find a way around it tho. Save the image to a picture box. then destory all instances in memory except the one in the picturebox. then save the image in the picturebox to the filename. Works like a charm.
