Renaming Fonts?

Is it at all possible to rename fonts?

I've received PDF documents with the font Helvetica-Bold in them. Helvetica is shipped
with Macs, not Windows 2000.

I'd like to copy Arial-Bold and then rename it Helvetica-Bold, but I don't know if the
font name is inside the font file and if I'd be messing up anything.

If you can contact the person who made the documents he should be able
to embed the fonts into the document.
