IS Future of .NET in danger???

Hi,

I just heard from a fellow programmer of VB that Microsoft will not be supporting .NET i.e. it will pull it off and is working on some new technology.

Is it True?

I was planning to learn VB.NET instead of VB6 for one of my projects on hand.

Not likey since there new server software is server.net



dot.net is likley to donimate in the next couple of years on microsoft platforms

Fortunately the associated technologies are covered in a public ECMA spec -- hence MS *cant* just take them away. They can stop supporting Visual Studio.NET (highly unlikely) but well always have the good work at go-mono.com

BTW. This should be posted in Random Thoughts.

Your fellow programmer might have overheard that a new release of VS.NET is in the making.

Also, MS has stopped supporting NT.

There might be the cause of the confusion.
