- .NET experience ( 2 years minimum )?

How long has VS .NET actually been out?
I was looking at job ads today & some place in Melbourne wants
two "Senior Solutions Consultants", I know that a senior position
requires an exceptional amount of knowledge & experience, but
realistically, .NET experience ( 2 years minimum )?
The other requirements are listed below:

- .NET experience ( 2 years minimum )
- Portal experience (1 year minimum )
- Understanding of Hardware
- Understanding of Networking concepts
- Understanding of Business Practices
- ASP,VB, VB Script, XML, XSL, Java Script, SQL, SQL Server,
Visual Studio.net, Com+, Access and Operating Systems.
- MSCD will be highly regarded


Would anyone feel comfortable applying for a job like this?

If im not mistaken .net framework first came out as a final release in february 2002. Im not sure.

There is nothing problem with in , I m MCSD since 2000 and doing job in an ISP, and using .NET since its 1st BETA Release which i got in 2001. then in mid of 2001 its Beta 2 was relased and then on 15th feburary 2002 Micorosoft officialy launched VS.NET 2002. Microsoft worked with .NET since 1999 and in PDC 2000 it announded for its .NET Technology. and later on PDC 2001 it announded .NET s furthure enhancements and features.

So are there a lot of people who could say theyve used .NET since the beta release?
Do you have .NET MCSD then?

Im just interested, as a student, I look at these job ads &
wonder.

Dear i am not MCSD.NET just preparing for that. .NET exams were relaeased after a long time ago official release of VS.NEt and the main Solution Architects Exams are relaease only a few months ago. dua to shortage of time i was unable to do so. just preparing for that exams.I m MCSD with VC++ 6.0

When VS.NET came out there were jobs posted requiring between 1-2 years experience in C#. I had that experience because I jumped the bandwagon as soon as the first beta emerged. So its not that uncommon.
