Hello all:
Thanks for your time. I was wondering if any of you have a suggestion of what database I should use. Here is what I am doing. I am creating a personal organizer with an address book, calender and so forth, sort of like Microsoft Outlook but only more features and different look and feel. I am doing this more so to hone my Visual Basic skills then anything else. I know how to connect to databases already but I want to store the information ,addresses, appointments and such somewhere. To do this I am thinking of a database, however, if I want to give this program to anyone or even make some money off of it, I do not want to infringe on someone elses product. So my question is does anyone know if there is a free database I can include in this program or if it is legal to use an access database file. Another question? Is anyone going to New Orleans Aug10-13th for the XP Agile Conference at the Doubletree hotel? I will be a student volunteer there helping out. I am looking forward to learning some new skills while there.See you all later, and thanks again for your input.---Matt

yes, ms access is the ideal choice for such applications. when compared to other rdbms access does not have such a strict security for the information, butwith .net you can make use of cryptography to store secure informations.
