Hi there, we are looking to add 40+ users to our terminal services network
from accross eastern Canada. Our current ISP gives us 640k upload speed of
wich we realistically get 400k. We can go up to 1Mb upload without too much
truble but is it ging to be enough for that kid of traffic?

Re: How much upload bandwidth

Hi,

Just so I am clear, your Terminal Server is located at your
office behind a 400Kbps effective connection, and the users will
be located somewhere on the Internet?

Which version of windows are you running? 2003?

The bandwidth required depends on many factors, for example,
client color depth, resolution, how many clients are active at
one time, frequency of printing, printer drivers used, size of each
print job and content, applications in use, how the apps are used,
etc. The other important thing to consider is what other purposes
is your Internet connection being used for?

You should measure the bandwidth used with a subset of "typical"
users and then plan accordingly.
