does anyone know of any good 3dS MAX 5?
Please note that im a beginner in da world of 3d ;)

i found 2 books:
Harnessing 3d studio max 5

and

3d studio MAX 5 for Dummies

which one would be better for beginners - Dummies, i think it might be too easy..lol

any other recommendations would be helpful :)

The best place to find book reviews is to search Amazon.com. They have tons of reader reviews that will keep you busy for hours.
 
It comes with a 500+ page manual, including tutorials and a getting started section ... didnt that help?

Actually, im a beginner to but those didnt help :-/ u need a book to start of in my opinoin. I looked at some of he books that pentium posted, but im not sure of the content.
 
Get a book for Max4 rather than Max5. As a beginner it wont matter, the fundamentals are the same.

The Inside 3d Studio Max books are quite good, and will probably be fairly cheap now that max5 is out.
