Extreme programming?

Is anyone using "Extreme Programming" practices or pair programming in a professional context?

If so - what experiences do you have :- is it the panacea its proponents claim or another bit of hype or something in between?
 
Ive read some docs around the net but I dont think its a great new thing! Im a MCSD and Ive learned all the MS methodology and we can apply those methods from small to large applications...

This kind of methodologies are good but we cant just stick to them on every single project... we have to be working with a medium/large group of developers to make it worth...
