What book would you prefer to read if you want to know more about C++ and C# in .NET ?

Youd be better off getting two books probably. And depending what you already know about programming, different books may suit you better than someone else. If you are a beginner to our wonderful world then get a beginner book. If you know your stuff say in vb and want to know a new language, find a faster paced book.

How to program C# by Deitel is a good one that i have. Read through it a little before you run and buy it though.

Good luck

Learning the syntax of C# takes about 1 hour at most, assuming youre familiar with the Java and C++ languages. In other words, I wouldnt go looking for a book about C#, Id be looking for a book that covers .NET.

I program in C#, and havent touched VB.NET in a long time. Despite this fact, the only .NET book I use is this one:

Programming Microsoft Visual Basic .NET (Core Reference)
by Francesco Balena

Yeah, sure, the code samples are in .NET. Big woop. Its still by far the best book Ive read about .NET in general and makes a most excellent reference.

C++ .NET however is a different ball game. Choices for such a book is pretty limited (as there arent many out there), so Id just recommend searching www.amazon.com.
