System.Net.Sockets Namespace Help

Hello, im perty new to .NET, havent been messing with it that much, but figured I would venture into the network aspect of it and see what is new.. and ... wow.. its a lot different from 6.. for me anyways.. i was trying to create a basic server-client program to use for chatting with multiple clients.. and for sending files back and forth. Before in 6 i used Winsock, but it seems that the system.net.sockets is the way to go, ive read through pages at MSDN and looked at a few other places and maybe im just retarded , but i cant understand it to save me.. its pretty overwhelming..

anyone care to elaborate a basic way of using this namespace? or point me to a good beginner tutorial or any resources that are dumbed down lol. Because right now i m lost. but any help would be very much appreciated.
