I am looking for a little guidance on purchasing a accounting system. This system should be easy to program and add changes to. Right now we are using a backend system called TopForm (www.topform.com). Its an accounting software package with warehousing/distribution capabilities running on a providex database.

Then we use a system called Four51 (www.four51.com) for our front end system. We are finding out that trying to maintain two different databases and trying to glue them in via XML is becoming a big problem Any help with be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot

Are you looking for an off-the-shelf program? If so, this is not the right place it. Or are you developing such a system using .NET?

I figured this is not the right place.. I just thought you guys might know off anything that I can buy and tweak up using .net

I doubt that any accounting package can be tweaked in that manner, not a professional one anyway.

I agree with Bobby. Companies making software like that usually dont allow others to (re-)develop parts of their system.

Wish it was so... Could save a lot of time!

There are systems like GoldMine (which is for call tracking, not accounting) that do allow developers to hook in, in a limited fashion. I believe GoldMine also has a team of developers "for hire" and contracts with other 3rd party companies to do development as clients request it.

Id assume that theres also an accounting package/company that offers a similar service but I dont know of any offhand.
