IBM Server won't install

Group,

I have tried everything I can think of.

I have an IBM x3560 7979 PSG server and I cannot get Windows 2003 or 2000
server to install on this. They both both start setup, say they are loading
the files, say setup is starting windows, then goes to the welcome to setup
screen. I then have the standard options: ENTER=cotinue, R=Repair, F3=quit

I hit enter and it tells me "Setup did not find any hard drives installed in
your computer". I have gone to IBM's site, got updated drivers and then
stopped dead in my tracks, there is no floppy drive on this system. I have
no floppy drive on any of the laptops or desktops I have.

I am looking for any help I can get here. I have gome through the MS and
IBM site and I am not seeing any other comments like this. Oh and I have
three of these and they all do the same thing.

Thanks for any help you can send my way,
Tim

Re: IBM Server won't install

Hello tring2200,

Think about to buy an usb floppy drive and provide the needed drivers on
this way. Another option is to create a installation disk with integrated
drivers.

Re: IBM Server won't install

You probably need the IBM ServerGuide CD, here is a link to the version
needed for the model you specified:

http://www-304.ibm.com/jct01004c/sy...display?lndocid=MIGR-5072250&brandind=5000008

You boot this CD and follow along to prep the server for install, it
will ask for the Windows CD eventually.

Hope this helps.

Re: IBM Server won't install

Thanks, I took the link and it is now loading. This is my first IBM server
so I was at a loss.

Re: IBM Server won't install

No problem at all, please post back if that helps you out. I recently
had the same issue where I came into a new company with a couple of IBM
eServers and before these, I had never touched an IBM (modern-day) server.
